The Work Rolls Forward
Wow time is flying!!! I cannot believe that I have been out almost 4 months!! Today was zone activity, and I finally had the opportunity to go paint-balling for the first time. Who knew the first time I would paint ball would be in Bolivia. I have tons of pictures but the USB drive does not work on this computer. I PROMISE I WILL GET YOU PICTURES EVENTUALLY! Since I don't have many photos, my current companion is the spitting image of Pharrell Williams. A photocopy. A clone. Haha it is crazy. He sings too. He is an incredible missionary. He has only 6 months but is our district leader and is finishing my training. Things are going so good here. Before I got here there were several companionships that were really bad. When I got here it was like opening a new area in the mission. Can I just say, that the Lord doesn't call you because you are qualified, he qualifies those he calls. We have finally gained the trust of the members again. The members when I first got here refused to work with us. We had the lowest number in the district of lessons with members, but with the help of the Lord, we were able to gain the confidence of the members again. This week we had 9 lessons with a member present. The amount before was only 3. This has been such a blessing because with the help of the members, the work is progressing much faster. We now have 5 investigators with a baptism date and 6 going to church. I am so grateful for the Lord's hand in my life. All of this was solely possible because of Him. I was probably being the most unqualified person to be called to this area, but with the Lord's strength we were able to change the hearts of the members here. Mi espaniol esta progresando. Jaja. Puedo intender casi todos la gente me hablan. (my spanish is progressing, I can understand most of what the people say to me. I was finally able to visit Falsuri. Its the outskirts of our area. I had been wanting to for the longest time. We walked an hour and we made it. The people in Falsuri are so prepared for the gospel, I am really excited to work there more. Our area consists of three settlements, or towns, and a whole mountain range. We have one of the 3 largest areas here in Cochabamba, but it is really the prettiest place on earth. It's paradise. We are supposed to have a baptism this week of a boy named Alex (11 yrs), but he has not asked his parents for permission. He is really afraid to talk to his parents. We have taught him about faith and everything we can to help him have strength. Please pray for him that he can talk to his parents and that he can have this baptism this week. He has been going to church for 2 years and knows its true. He asked his parents in the past if it he could be baptized and they said no. This time I think it actually could happen. Thanks for all the prayers and the emails. ¡Te quiero mucho!
