Guided By the Spirit
Well this week was a really good week. We spent a ton of time contacting old investigators of older missionaries, but we didnt actually find anyone haha, we ended up talking to a ton of new people. This week was full of the spirit guiding us where we needed to go. We had an old registro (person previously visited by missionaries) we wanted to visit who lives casi (almost) up where our area ends near the mountain. We went up there to find her house, found it, but she was not home. We started to wait for a trufi (taxi on a fixed route) but it never came so we started walking, as we were walking I decided to walk down a certain street. We started walking and we saw three little kids really far off. We decided to go and talk to them. As we got close I recognized one of the boys. He was a person Elder Leon and I talked to my first week in the street, but never went and visited them. We ended up talking to the boys and were able to schedule another visit. Saturday Villa Moderna had a baptism, we took three of our investigators to see the baptism. We got there five minutes before we started and my name was given to give a message haha Gracias de mi Companero (thanks to my companion)! It was a really neat experience. Right before it was my turn to talk, I was filled with memories of my baptism that I completly had forgotten about. I felt like it was a good message, minus the fact that I cried the whole time I was talking. haha Thank you dad for the cry genes. After the baptism the girl being baptized thanked me and told me it was just what she needed to hear. Sunday was a miracle day. We were 7 lessons from completing our goals. After church we went on intercambios (exchanges) with two priests in the branch. One who is waiting for his mission call, and the other is in his senior year. We went out and tried to visit everyone. I went with one young man and we went to almost all of our investigators houses but no one was home, nor the minus activos (less actives). Feeling a little discouraged we went to the last investigator in the area and had a really good lesson about the Book of Mormon. Half way through the lesson it started raining and hailing like crazy. After the lesson we went running, the two of us with only one tiny umbrella. As we were running we saw a woman with her 2 year old son, carrying tons of grocceries, trying to get home. We ran over to help her, all of us trying to use the one umbrella. We got to her house and it started thundering and lightning, we ended up at their house for a while. We talked to them and found out the missionaries 3 years before had been teaching her family. We ended up having a really good lesson while it was raining outside. This is just two of the many examples that day, and that week of when the spirit guided us to where we needed to be. We ended up completing almost all of our goals, a miracle. I am so grateful for the spirit, and I know that if we are obedient the spirit can guide us where we need to go and what to do. I also know that the Lord answers all prayers, whether it is the answer we want or no. He knows what is best and is always there to help us.
