PotoYES! PotoSI!

Well before I say anything, I took tons of pictures of Potosi, but there is no way on earth I can send them all. If you want to see them all go to my blog my dad has been keeping up for me (see the "Photos" section). This place is incredible, I have never been in a place where it can get so cold so fast and the sun can still be shining bright. You need to carry a coat with you everywhere because sometimes it is super hot, and the next you are freezing cold. Its like Utah weather in the spring but worse. Well things are progressing here really rapidly. We have been praying for the Spirit to guide us to those people who need our message because we started with zero. And we have had lots of success finding those who are need of our message. The first person we contacted was very interesting. While we were talking to her, asking for directions because we were lost, I noticed a quote on her wall from one of the Apostles. At first I thought she was a member, but she didnt act like all the other members when they see the missionaries. I asked her if she was a member, and she said no. We then began asking her questions. Apparently 12 years ago she was talking to the missionaries. but she quit talking to them. Her 6 year old son has some problems with his heart. And it has caused a lot of pain in her life. This quote she found has helped her through her trials with her son. I wish I could remember the quote. We have been talking to her and she told us that she is ready for a change in her life, then the missionaries came. The past little while we have not been able to talk to her for a while because she traveled with her son to Cocha for a surgery on his heart. Everyone please pray for her and her child. We also had two people we began teaching this week in the church. The members here are amazing and welcomed in with welcome arms. This week started our a little crazy. The Night after our first P day, we went to a members house for a family night. What happend I was not expecting. We went and the dad wanted to take pictures with each of us one by one. I went first. The dad came over and stood next to me and said "Listo" (ready) to Elder Crosby. Crosby was messing around with my camera and said "hey Heaps how do you put this thing on video?" Replying, I asked "Hey wait what is going on. Why do you want a video?" "Oh its fine I'll just take a photo." Crosby said. Before I could ask more questions they were taking the photo, and the dad did the fake kiss and dip thing with his hand over my mouth. I went into shock, that deffinalty was not what I was expecting to happen. the picture is hystericle and I ended up taking a video when he did it to my comp. Elder Medina. Apparently it is kinda like initiation here for the missionaries en el Barrio Delicias Well our pensionista is getting us ready for winter, she told us about everything we would need to do when it gets to winter. She told us that every night before we go to bed we haveto put on a Honey Oatmeal mask on our face and ears. Or we will leave Potosi looking like we just came out of Martins Cove. If we don't, our noses and ears will start to peal and bleed. Not really excited about that. Also she told us that we needed to buy glasses. Because in the cold of Potosi it is super dry, and if we are going to walk around all day we will need glasses to protect us from the dirt and snow. I didnt realize how bad it was going to be but I am even more excited. After hearing all the details about the winter, I have never been so grateful for the house we are living in. It is one of the only houses here that has heating like in the U.S. I will not be cold every night!! Time is going by so fast I hate it. I want this to last. This place is amazing. I am excited for the cold. BRING IT ON WINTER!! this place is beautiful. The members are amazing, and the work is incredible. I have changed a ton as I have grown closer to the Savior these past six months. I am excited to see what the rest of my mission holds in store for me. I am not going to go home. sorry Mom never.
